August 21, the opening ceremony and the orientation welcoming twelve full-time students and three auditors were held with the chairman Mr. Toshizo Ido (Governor of Hyogo Prefecture) in attendance.

MSIT-IS class of 09 students attended the diploma ceremony on May 16 and the commencement ceremony on May 17 in Pittsburgh.
They visited the chairman of the Hyogo Institute of Information Education Foundation to report their graduation.

June 6, 2009: A team of students from CyLab Japan won the 1st place prize and was awarded by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in the annual IT incident handling contest that was held at the Shirahama Cyber Crime Symposium 2009.
