After the Fall Semester 2009 (per Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)’s academic calendar), CM CyLab Japan will cease all educational activities. From the Spring Semester 2010, the Master of Science in Information Technology-Information Security (MSIT-IS) program will be offered at CMU’s Pittsburgh campus.

After the Fall Semester 2009, the CM CyLab Japan students will transfer to CMU’s Pittsburgh Campus and complete the remainder of the MSIT-IS program with other CMU students. The arrangements for travelling (passport, visa etc.) to America, moving to the CMU Campus and living preparations such as finding a residence, are the responsibility of the students.

CMU and CM CyLab Japan will offer advice and guidance to students concerning travel requirements, moving to the CMU Campus and living preparations, as long as it is within their capabilities. However, CMU and CM CyLab Japan will not shoulder any of the responsibility for any inconveniences the students may encounter.

Students will pay tuition to CyLab Japan for fall 2009 and to CMU for spring 2010 and after. The amount, currency, and procedures will be determined by CM CyLab Japan and CMU respectively. If a student receives a scholarship, the student’s tuition payment will follow scholarship rules.

Aside from payment of tuition, the student is responsible for costs associated with the transfer to the CMU Campus and living and studying expenses, including:
  (i)
Textbooks and other required course materials and fees;
  (ii)
Travel expenses;
  (iii)
Accommodation, meal, clothing and other personal and living expenses;
  (iv)
Medical insurance and/or medical expenses;
  (v)
Passport and visa costs;
  (vi)
Non-compulsory incidental fees; and
  (vii)
All other expenses incurred by the student during the course of study;
